What You Thought

Peanut Butter the Boston Terrier

Previously Peanut was very hyper and wouldn't stop barking at other dogs. Our dog trainer recommended a change in his diet, along with the stopping of “human treats” in the hope this would alleviate his “hyper” state. I purchased the MINI Lamb & Rice dry food and started feeding it and removed all human food treats! One week on and already he is around 30% better in himself! Its early days, but he does seem calmer already. Juliet

"Charlie" & Benji ~ Submitted by Karen Donald

"On my recommendation my friend put her two rescue dogs on Arden Grange. Charlie is a Jack Russell, and Benji is a Yorkshire Terrier. They had previously been fed another well known diet but their skin was dry and flaky especially Benji's. They originally went onto Arden Grange Adult but when the Arden Grange Mini Lamb was introduced they changed to that. They have never looked better! Their coats are silky and there are never any stomach problems. They are both thriving on the Mini. Benji can be a faddy eater but will eat Arden Grange without any problems." Many thanks to Karen for the lovely photo of her friend's two gorgeous little dogs, and for the great testimonial which we appreciate.

Mini Adult with fresh lamb & rice

Mini Adult with fresh lamb & rice

Recommended for:

  • Small and medium breed adult dogs with a normal activity level

Can also be used for:

  • Larger breed adult dogs who prefer a smaller kibble size
  • The discerning eater (the small kibble is easily soaked to make a tasty moist texture and bring out the aroma of the lamb)
  • Older puppies (12wks+) and juveniles who cannot tolerate chicken based diets (please ask for our special feeding guide if this is the case)

Nutritional Information:

  • Arden Grange MINI rich in fresh lamb and rice provides wholesome, gentle nutrition for miniature, toy and small breed dogs especially those that require an alternative to a chicken based feed
  • Top quality lamb, free from growth hormones and antibiotics; the lamb meat meal is a concentrated source of nutrition which is naturally rich in minerals and only the nutritionally valuable parts of the lamb are included (i.e. no wool, heads, hooves etc)

Using the Feeding Charts

The Arden Grange feeding charts will give an estimation of the daily feeding quantity based on your cat or dog’s weight.

It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet’s nutritional requirements : -

Activity level

Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)

Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)

In order to provide the correct portions, it is also helpful to assess your pet’s appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particular pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.

It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.

If you require any assistance in calculating the correct feeding quantities for your cat or dog, please contact our nutrition adviser who will be happy to help.
