Giving Tuesday winners announced

We are pleased to announce that the winners of our #GivingTuesday charity Prize draw are Gracie’s Cat Rescue in Nottinghamshire and St Francis Dog Rescue in Cornwall. They will soon be in receipt of 100kg of cat food and dog food, an early Christmas present from us to the animals in their care.

Serving as the perfect antidote to the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we like to give something back with our annual Giving Tuesday Prize Draw. We were amazed at the amount of people that got involved this year on our social media sites by nominating recues from all over the UK in recognition of the amazing work they do.

Since it was founded in April 2013, the team at Gracie’s Cat Rescue have worked tirelessly to ensure all the cats they rescue have everything they need to go on and live a happy, healthy life.

Gracie’s says “The General and Eddie are two examples of residents who will benefit greatly from this prize. Both cats lived their lives on the streets, neglected by everyone and helped by no one, until Gracie’s took them in. Whilst we can provide all the love and support to the cats in our care and organise their veterinary treatments, a full tummy is what’s also needed so we really can’t thank you enough!”

St Francis Dogs Home in Cornwall was founded by a group of animal enthusiasts in 1955, a time when there were very few rescue and rehoming facilities. They wanted to stop unwanted pet dogs and strays being put to sleep when they could be happily rehomed. Today, St Francis is a dog rehoming charity focused on the needs of each dog as an individual, helping to set them up for successful rehoming and striving to ensure that they receive the very best of care while they wait for their forever homes. This approach has resulted in the successful rehoming of up to 200 dogs every year.

Thank you to all our friends and followers for sending in your nominations and for helping to spread the word about the competition.  We look forward to running it again next year.
